Day 1

Today was fun. I took my son to basketball camp at the Montclair Rec Center at 9, then my daughter wasn't due to be at cheerleading camp until 10. I knew where it was being held, but was a big campus that I was unfamiliar with, so we went early. It was about 60 degrees and a little windy, but nice to sit outside the tennis courts while we waited for her camp to begin. At 10, they called her name on the roll call and I was off for two hours. Freedom! I really wanted to take a yoga class, but didn't know close by studios, so I did some retail therapy instead. My husband's department has a dinner at a nice place on Thursday night and I don't have very many dress clothes since I became a yoga instructor and started working full time. I went to Loehman's and tried on several dresses and a few tops. It was one of those communal dressing rooms, so I was happy my underwear wasn't too ratty. There were only a few other women in there anyway. I bought a brown halter dress with a large white floral print. It looked cute in the dressing room anyway. I also bought three summer tops and a pair of shoes. Now that I'm remarried, money isn't an issue, but I still pretty much bargain shop. It's a step up from my Goodwill or secondhand store shopping.

My daughter's camp was over at 12, so I got there in plenty of time to see them do finishing up calesthenics. I was happy to see she can do 5 "boy" style pushups and didn't have to drop to her knees. Her favorite places to eat are Wahoo Fish Taco and Tokyo Joe's. The strip mall next door had both so she changed her mind several times before settling on Tokyo Joe's. There was a long line, but the salmon salad was well worth the wait. I've got about 10 lbs to go to my "fighting weight," so am on a diet now. I work out nearly every day but don't watch my eating as well as I should.

We went home to get our swim stuff and pick my son up at his camp at 2PM. He had a good day at basketball camp and was excited we got to go swimming. It was still breezy out so the indoor pool was a better option than outdoor. The local childcare place had 67 kids at the pool, so it was screaming crowded for a while, but cleared out and I felt more comfortable to swim with the kids. I went down the big slide once, but mostly just chased them around. We had so much fun another kid asked if he could play. It's weird to chase someone else's kid.

At 3PM, we went to get groceries for dinner, then picked the weiner dog up at doggie daycare. he doesn't go that often, but if I have to be away from home for longer than 3 hours, I like him to go. It's too warm to safely leave him in the car and I heard of a dachshund getting stolen from a locked truck in a nearby town. He was happy to see us.

Not sure where I want to go with this blog. I really just logged in to google to find my husband a father's day present from my kids. Oh well, it's been fun. Probably pretty boring.
